Homes in Caerleon estate could be occupied by Christmas time with lots in the first stage on track for registration in May.

The residential urban release has been a hive of activity since September last year when contractors moved on site to construct infrastructure.

Half of the first stage has sold with owner-builders anticipated to begin construction in July/August.

“We’re excited and looking forward to the registration of lots in May,” developer Nathan Davis said.

Landscaping will begin in March with established trees to be planted alongside installed irrigation systems.

Two-hundred and sixty-seven DA approved lots will be release on the site in the first four or five stages.

“I think the timing is right with the take-in of jobs from the mining industry and tree-changers moving to town,” developer Troy Turner added.

The development incorporates plans for a ‘town centre’ to include a child care facility, supermarket, medical centre, oval, skate park, basketball courts and retail shops.

A retirement village is also slated for construction along with open spaces, playgrounds and open space park lands.

“There’s nothing of this scale been done in Mudgee before,” Mr Davis said.

The second stage will include 65 assisted living villas for over 55s expected to be constructed later this year.
