The success of Mudgee’s Food and Drink Trail has led to the expansion of the event this year which will be held in the region on the 25th and 26th March.
The Mudgee Region Food and Drink Trail is a journey across the food region’s best producers. Visitors are invited to explore Mudgee through sampling a locally produced beverage matched to a regionally inspired dish.
“Our first Food and Drink Trail was last year and its success has attracted more producers to be part of it in 2017,” said Jess Chrcek, President of the Mudgee Wine Grape Growers Association.
“We now have over 20 destinations including cellar doors, farms, orchards, cafes and a distillery.”
“Our winemakers have been receiving remarkable praise on the quality of their wines which is helping re-invigorate the region. Coupled with the development of the food culture, Mudgee is attracting great visitation.”
“The region is swinging open its doors and inviting travellers and locals to meet the local producers and taste the region. There are historic buildings, rustic cellar doors, along with the local cafes offering new and innovative products, cordials, beer, handcrafted shrubs, dukkah, wine and more.”
“Not only will visitors taste Mudgee, but the self guided tours give them a glimpse of the region, with its picturesque landscapes, vineyards, farmland and waterways.”
